How many years have you been in it?

My professional background is in banking, where I’ve spent the past 25 years developing expertise in project management, vendor relations, problem-solving, and leading teams through complex challenges. While I enjoyed helping clients navigate important milestones in their lives, I never imagined that event planning would become my true passion. That all changed when my twin daughters celebrated their quinceañera. Planning an event for 300 of our closest friends and family (yes, really!) introduced me to the world of event design, logistics, and celebration planning. What started as a labor of love quickly became something much more. I fell in love with the entire process. From bringing a vision to life to managing every detail behind the scenes, I discovered how rewarding it is to create meaningful experiences for others. Sixteen years later, that passion remains just as strong, and I still love helping couples and families celebrate some of life’s most important moments.

What sets your company apart from similar ones in the same field?

Without a doubt, it’s our family. As a family-owned business, I have the privilege of working alongside my daughters, and that creates a dynamic that our clients immediately connect with. One of the things we hear most often is, “We love your vibe—you’re so easy to talk to.” We take that as one of the highest compliments because building genuine relationships is at the heart of everything we do. We truly enjoy getting to know our couples—their story, their personalities, their likes and dislikes, and what matters most to them. To us, our clients become an extension of our family. We celebrate their milestones as if they were our own, and we are honored to be part of such meaningful moments in their lives. While weddings are often where the relationship begins, our goal is for it not to end there. We want to be there for all of life’s next chapters. Whether that’s a baby shower, birthday celebration, anniversary party, or another special event. We believe in building lasting relationships and creating memories that families will cherish for years to come. At the end of the day, we’re not just planning events—we’re helping families celebrate life’s most important moments, together.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen happen at a wedding?

One of the funniest moments I’ve ever witnessed happened at a destination wedding in Cancun, Mexico. Like many weddings, there was a little nervous energy in the air. The couple had chosen to have an adults-only wedding, which meant there would be no traditional flower girl. What no one knew except the bride and a few people helping behind the scenes was that she had a surprise planned: “Beer Boy.” As the ceremony began, you could feel the anticipation. The groom made his way down the beach to the altar, followed by the wedding party. Everything was going exactly as expected until the processional music suddenly stopped. Then, out of nowhere, Fergie’s “London Bridge” (the explicit version!) started blasting through the speakers. The guests looked shocked. The bridal party looked confused. For a brief moment, everyone thought there had been a major mistake. Then out came the Beer Boy. Dancing down the aisle, carrying drinks, hyping up the crowd, and completely owning the moment, he had everyone laughing within seconds. If you knew the couple, you immediately understood, this was so them. He danced his way through the crowd, handed out a few beverages to lucky guests, and turned what could have been a tense moment into an unforgettable memory. What I loved most about it was how quickly the atmosphere changed. All the wedding-day nerves disappeared, everyone relaxed, and the ceremony became exactly what the couple wanted: fun, authentic, and full of joy. It’s a perfect reminder that weddings don’t have to be serious to be meaningful. Sometimes the most unexpected moments become the memories everyone talks about for years to come.

What is your favorite wedding trend right now?

One of my favorite wedding trends is seeing couples move away from what they’re “supposed to do” and instead create a wedding that truly reflects who they are. Whether it’s incorporating family traditions, hosting a private last dance, serving their favorite late-night snacks, or choosing unique entertainment that tells their story, I love seeing couples make their wedding day personal and meaningful. These thoughtful touches create an experience that guests remember long after the celebration is over. As a planner, I believe every wedding should feel like an extension of the couple’s personality, not a copy of someone else’s Pinterest board. The most memorable weddings are the ones where guests walk away saying, “That was so them.” When couples focus on authenticity rather than trends, they create a celebration that feels timeless, heartfelt, and uniquely their own, and that’s something that never goes out of style.

What is your best planning advice or tip for couples?

My biggest piece of advice is simple: remember why you’re planning the wedding in the first place. It’s easy to get caught up in seating charts, timelines, budgets, and all the little details, but at the end of the day, the wedding is about celebrating your love and the commitment you’re making to each other. When things start to feel overwhelming, take a step back and refocus on what truly matters. I also encourage couples to prioritize the three things that are most important to them. Whether it’s the venue, photography, food, entertainment, or guest experience, knowing your priorities early helps guide decisions and keeps your budget aligned with what matters most. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to ask for help. You don’t have to do everything yourselves. Lean on your support system, trust your vendors, and allow yourself to enjoy the engagement season. The planning process should be part of the celebration, not something you simply have to survive. Your wedding day will go by faster than you can imagine, so be present, soak in every moment, and focus on creating memories rather than chasing perfection.

Click Here to learn more about Your Next Chapter Event Planning!

Today’s Fast Five is covering Lisa from Your Next Chapter Event Planning!
