Questions to Ask the Photographer
- How long will the photographer be there?
- What shots will be taken?
- Do prices include rights to make your own prints?
- Do packages include a second shooter? If not, can one be added?
- How far in advance do we need to book with you?
- Have you done many weddings that were similar to mine in size and style?
- How would you describe your photography and working styles?
- If your style is mostly candid, will we still get formal, posed portraits (and vice versa)?
- Do you specialize in indoor or outdoor events, or both?
- Do you have an updated portfolio we can review with examples of full weddings?
- Who assists you in rounding up our guests? Should we ask a family member or friend to assist you?
- Can we post images to Facebook or other social media sites?
- Are you familiar with our wedding and reception sites?
- Do you charge for a travel fee and what does that cover?
- What time will you arrive at the site?
- Is it okay if other people take photos while you’re taking photos?
- Can you put together a slideshow to be shown during the cocktail hours/reception?
- What type of packages do you offer? Are they customizable?
- Do you include engagement photos in your packages? Bridals? Rehearsal dinner?
- Do you provide retouching, color adjustment, or other corrective services?
- How long after the wedding will we get the proofs?
- How many final images should we expect to receive?
- When will the images be available? How long will we have to place our order? How long do orders take to be filled?
- Do you help with creating an album? Can we see some album designs?
- When will we receive a written contract for your services?
- How much of a deposit do you require and when is it due?
- Do you offer payment plans?
- Are there any other restrictions in the contract we should know about?
- What is your refund/cancellation policy?
- Are you required to feed the photographer?
- How will photographer be dressed?
