Questions to Ask The Venue
- Are tables and chairs included in the rental fee? Linens? Other items?
- Do you offer in-house catering? Do you have a list of approved caterers?
- What are the alcohol policies?
- Who is responsible for cleanup? When does it have to be completed?
- What dates are available in the month we are considering?
- What is the rental fee and what’s included in that price?
- How many hours does the rental fee include, and is there an overtime fee if I stay longer?
- How much is the deposit, when is it due, and is it refundable?
- Can we have our ceremony here, too? If so, is there an additional cost?
- Are there separate dressing areas for my fiancé, our wedding party and myself?
- Can we have our rehearsal dinner here?
- Is there a full kitchen available for our caterer to use?
- Are you licensed to provide alcohol service?
- Is there a separate space for cocktail hour?
- Are there additional charges for bar staff?
- Do you have liability insurance?
- Are we allowed to bring in our own decorations?
- Do you have an inventory of décor (lighting, candle holders, vases, etc.) we can borrow or rent from you?
- Do you allow candles, confetti, sparklers, fireworks, animals, lawn games, etc.? (items that are fun but potentially dangerous)
- Do you offer on-site coordination? What services are included?
- Can the venue accommodate a DJ or live band?
- Are there any noise restrictions?
- Is there parking on site and if so, is it complimentary? Do you offer valet parking?
- Is your facility handicap accessible?
- What security services do you offer?
- What time can my vendors start setting up on the day of the wedding?
- Does the venue provide assistance getting gifts and/or décor back to a designated car or hotel room after the wedding?
- Do you provide heaters and/or umbrellas for the outdoor space?
- What is your weather contingency plan for outdoor spaces?
