Austin Venue Tour…Rustic Beauties

When it comes to Texas, rustic Hill Country weddings will always be a unique experience for you and your guests. Taking the best of Texas’s beautiful landscape and ambiance and adding charming venue options, these wedding venues are ideal for that classic Texas wedding feel.

Elm Pass Woods

If you’re a couple who envisions being surrounded by nature with the woods as your backdrop, Elm Pass Woods if for you.

The prime ceremony location is under the trees in their pecan grove, with rows of rustic benches for your guests. A tipi-inspired outdoor tent gives you a bit of comfort and a lot of style. There’s a 1950’s Ford ideally suited for photos, and countless little nooks to create a special space for your wedding.

Hosting a wedding at Elm Pass Woods is a truly unique experience. They specialize in Wedfests – wedding receptions with a festival feel. The reception to follow often includes lawn games, food trucks, and s’mores to finish the night.

House on the Hill

Just off Bee Caves Road is a charming private estate featuring a luscious garden, outdoor wedding pavilion and a 1,000 square foot indoor wedding venue.

Garden-style weddings are especially charming at this location. The garden features oak trees wrapped with ivy and a stone waterfall for the perfect picture.

You can host your wedding reception in the gardens, at their covered pavilion or in their indoor wedding venue, depending on your number of guests. We love that you can bring in your own caterer as well.

One thing we love about House on the Hill is the special weekend packages this Austin wedding venue features. The venue has a main house and several cottages that can accommodate up to 20 guests overnight. Their weekend packages include time and space for your rehearsal, rehearsal dinner and wedding the next day.

Oh – and did we mention there’s a pool?!

McKinney Roughs Nature Park

McKinney Roughs may be an Austin wedding venue you haven’t considered…but should.

The park has an outdoor amphitheater situated under sprawling oak trees, making it a favorite for wedding ceremonies. Guests can be situated on long benches to a perfect view.

A nearby lake is in view of the amphitheater, and provides an additional ceremony location. Have your decorator put up an archway, add some white chairs and you have a lakeside ceremony spot.

Wedding receptions can be held indoors or outdoors.

The outdoor reception space sits just in front of the country-house styled great hall. String lights lace through the trees, giving your wedding reception the outdoor, country ambiance loved by Austin couples.

Indoor receptions are held in the great hall itself. The space features a wrap around porch and tall vaulted ceilings. The hall has wooden beams, a grand stone fireplace and barn doors for that perfect country chic look.

Each fiance gets their own suite with dedicated space to prepare with their wedding parties. You can also bring your own caterer, with a full commercial kitchen at their disposal.

Don’t pass up checking out this unique venue.

Texas Old Town

The sprawling venue of Texas Old Town seems to have something for every couple. From outdoor elegant to rustic to country chic – you have four different venue options on the grounds to find the perfect Austin wedding venue for you.

The Tejas venue is the largest hall, exuding Texas country charm. The venue features wooden beams, wood siding, and includes long wooden benches mixed with square tables seating four. The pairing ceremony site is a cedar gazebo surrounded by oak trees.

In addition to the wood ceilings and board and batten walls, the beauty of the Redbud is completed with a red oak dance floor. The nearby outdoor ceremony site complements perfectly with the country-chic vibes.

Couple’s favorite venue at Texas Old Town is the Sage. The high ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and romantic ceiling drapings make for true rustic elegance.

The Stone venue is unique for its limestone rock walls, ornate iron doors and a dramatic staircase begging for that perfect shot. The nearby ceremony location features a pergola, a stone-lined walkway and to top it off, an 8 foot waterfall!

One thing we love about Texas Old Town weddings is the amenities. The location provides your seating, tables, bride and groom dressing rooms, sound system for your outdoor ceremony, all with a 16 hour rental time frame. The parking is complimentary and your onsite event manager will help you coordinate your details on your wedding day.
