Our Story
We had originally met in Medford, Oregon in 2005; our families, at the time, attended the same church. We both left Medford in 2008 for very different reasons. Years later, after some major life changes, God brought us back together. Erik was living in Texas, and I was living in North Carolina. Reconnecting was not something either of us ever expected would happen. For both of us, neither one of us was on the other's radar. God had a different plan. One night, on March 23, 2019, Erik decided out of the blue to send a message to me through social media to say hello. I responded right away and the rest, as they say, is history! It was obvious that our reconnecting was not by accident. We reconnected over the phone, long distance, and talked for hours on end. It was just over a month before we saw each other in person for the first time since 2008. When deciding on a wedding date, we wanted to keep the same day as when we reconnected, so March 23rd was it, even though it was a Tuesday.
We selected Carter Creek Winery Resort and Spa because it was recommended to us as a possible venue. After visiting them we knew it was the right place for us. They accommodated us amazingly well, with catering, custom menus, beautiful villas, a pool, a hot tub, and their own wine and beer. We go back every few months, and they now have a full-service spa to really make your visit a wonderful experience.
