Our Story
We met in 2012 during our first semester of college at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas. We both played collegiate soccer at St. Edward's and were both on campus early for preseason workouts. The first time we ran into each other on campus, I told Colin how I'd been craving double-stuffed Oreos. The next day, he showed up at my dorm with Oreos in hand- and from then on, we were together every single day. From running through the sprinklers at night on campus to gazing at the stars on the soccer field at St. Edward's, Austin is the place we fell in love. We dated all through college and moved in together into our first apartment in Austin in late 2016. In July 2020, we decided to take a road trip to the Grand Canyon before I went off to graduate school in Indiana for genetic counseling. While distance wasn’t out favorite option, Colin supported me 100% and was almost more excited than me when I found out I got into graduate school. During our first day on vacation at the Grand Canyon, what I thought was just going to be a scenic hike, turned into Colin getting down on one knee and proposing overlooking the Grand Canyon. We knew even though we had plans to move to Dallas after I graduated from graduate school, that we wanted to have our wedding in Austin, our favorite city and the place we fell in love. With Colin’s love of history and the natural beauty of the Bullock Museum as a venue, we knew this was the venue for us! We also have one cat named Sven that I adopted during college and has been with us all throughout our relationship from the start!
