Our Story
We met in the most millennial way— love at first swipe. Okay, that might be an exaggeration - but Austin did make a big impression on me; mostly because his first message felt like an interview. He wanted to know my education level, my career, and 5-year plan. Although we had a great first date, where we spent hours getting to know each other over pasta at Maggianos, it took us a while to make it “official”. However, once we did, our love and friendship has only deepened. After over 7 years together, 3 moves, hardship and happy times, and going through a pandemic, we were finally married on April 30, 2022. Austin got the ring a little after being together for 5 years but was waiting for just the right time to pop the question. He had several grand ideas, but unfortunately, it was hard to execute them during quarantine. Finally, my family planned a fishing trip for October 2022, and Austin knew that was his chance. After asking my dad for his blessing, they planned together how he was going to propose. After a long day of fishing, the family got cleaned up and went for a sunset walk on the beach. We walked along the pier and I had a small hunch that this could be it, and snuck a glance at both Austin and my dad but didn’t find a ring box-shaped bump in their pockets. Walking to the beach with our mini schnauzer Lucky, we stopped to take a few pictures. After a while, Austin got very quiet and I glanced at my parents and realized my dad was filming. He gave Austin a wink and mouthed “Do It!” and that’s when I finally saw the ring box in Austin’s pocket. Cue the ugly tears. Austin took me by the hand and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
