Our Story
A unique detail of our wedding: The bride's mother created a unique unity and remembrance ceremony all-in-one. On each of the first-row chairs, there was a white rose. During the ceremony, our officiant asked those in the first row to stand. These were passed to the fathers of the households and given to the bride and groom. Here is the excerpt from our ceremony: Will the families in the front row please stand and pass down your roses to the aisle. This wedding celebration is a joining of two unique families who stood separate until today. Today we unite these families by the marriage of Stephanie and Nick. Stephanie and Nick have shone honor on the separateness of their families and now, the togetherness, with the combining of these roses. These roses represent unique family members that will now be combined into a beautiful bouquet. A remembrance prayer is said over those roses. At this moment we want to take a special moment to honor those who are no longer with us. They truly are contributing factors to the reason why we are here today. If it was not for their love and their life, this love would not exist. So we thank God for them and feel that their spirit is with us now. The flowers held by the family now, will be put in a beautiful vase at the remembrance table. Unique details of the family: Nick did not know his biological dad until he was 16. He made the decision to change his last name to reflect his father. How we met: Nick and Stephanie met while they were apartment neighbors in Fort Worth. Stephanie noticed her neighbor's door open one day - she knocked and introduced herself. Stephanie spent that whole evening laughing at Nick's jokes and sharing their favorite music back and forth. They continued to see each other every day after that.
