Our Story
This is us... "I need two volunteers!" A sea of 600 hands raises hoping to be selected to open Universal Studios. "Alex it's fine, he's not going to pick us," Tyler says in his typical tone. "Well, we at least have to try. Let's move a little closer and maybe they will!" Alex responds. So naturally, they did as she said, lol. After maneuvering their way into the line of sight of the Universal Studios admissions attendant, by some miracle, he asks Tyler and Alex, "Do you two want to open the park today?" It is at this point, Tyler's life flashed before his eyes... Unbeknownst to Alex, the ring that Tyler managed to conceal from her for the previous six months, was in his backpack. But a wise man once said, "If a window of opportunity appears, don't pull down the shade." Marc, the admissions attendant, ushers Alex and Tyler through the gates of the park. He hands them a laminated script along with a microphone. Tyler manages to make eye contact with Marc and slip him his phone. While they wait until the clock strikes 9 am, Tyler secretly shows Marc the ring. In a matter of moments, Marc arranges for a video recording of the entire experience. Marc saw the ring, and what was understood didn't need to be said. Marc is the real hero of this fairy tale. Much like the start of a movie trailer, Marc counts them down “3, 2, 1." Tyler introduces him and Alex to the awaiting crowd. He starts to go a tad off script like he's been known to do. “I'd love to share with everyone how special she is to me!” Tyler announces. He drops to a knee, and the crowd erupts. The park admissions team joins in the fanfare and it very quickly becomes the most magical moment of the couple's lives. Life truly works in strange ways. We are forever grateful to our friends, family, and Marc who made this experience part of our journey. We hope everyone can be so lucky to find a Marc along the way!
