Charles and I experienced a lot of heartache in past relationships. We both were so tired of the online dating life and even just the traditional way of meeting people. So, we each signed up with a professional matchmaking service in San Antonio: Modern Mingle. Charles joined in Oct 2019 and I joined Jan 20, 2020, a Monday and by Wednesday I was informed about my first match, Charles. Modern Mingle is very traditional and different from online dating. No pictures could be exchanged; your first phone call could only be 15 min to discuss where you would meet for a first date (basically a blind date) which could only be about 30 min at like Starbucks. WELL, Charles and I broke every rule once he called me, lol. Our first phone call was 2 hours long! That was on January 23, 2020; we made arrangements to have our first date on January 26, 2020. That first date was supposed to only be 30 min at Starbucks but it turned into lunch at a pizza joint, followed by games at Dave & Busters! I fought Charles so badly the entire time - I kept telling him we weren't allowed to do any of this, and boy was my walls up! Our second date is when things really started to change for us. It was January 31, 2020 - he had surprised me with flowers, but not just any regular flowers, my favorite: hydrangeas and roses! Afterward, we went to a comedy club where we really were able to see how we both just enjoy having a good time. It was after that date that we knew we had to see each other more. We made it official on our third date on February 8, 2020, at the San Antonio Rodeo. We were lucky to have met just before Covid changed everyone's lives! Charles proposed on Oct 15, 2021, and had the owners of Modern Mingle there for the surprise. We got married on March 4, 2023; time has just flown by and we are both so grateful for each other and for Modern Mingle, professional matchmaking service <3
