Sometimes, the most important wedding pros you hire may not be the ones you think of first. Steve Messana, owner of Cap City Rentals, is used to hearing this from couples. Cap City Rentals specializes luxury portable restroom trailers, an essential yet often overlooked wedding necessity.

What sets your company apart from similar ones in the same field?

We are a small, locally-based company with a relatively small fleet of luxury bathroom trailers. This is to our advantage. Since we are small, we are very nimble and responsive. Every job request we receive isn’t always the perfect fit for us, but the jobs that we accept we service with excellence. We operate seven days a week and answer calls at all hours of the day. We strive to offer the best customer service in the business and will do everything in our power to make your experience one to forget. Yes, forget. Nobody wants to think about portable bathrooms at their special occasion. When we do our job right our services should be almost seamless.

Are you married? Do you have children? Tell us about your family.

I am married to my lovely wife Lisa. We were married 13 years ago in Horseshoe Bay. It was a pretty small wedding with a total of about 30 guests. We chose to keep it small so that we could fashion it as a destination wedding. Most of our guests came in from out of town. With it being small we were able to create an incredible four-day event with plenty of activities. It was amazing. We have two beautiful girls in their early days of elementary school. They enjoy ballet, soccer and gymnastics.

What services do you provide?

Our main focus is our luxury portable bathroom trailers, but we also have a few simpler trailers and a small fleet of porta-potties so we can cater to every situation and budget. We generally place the porta-potties at weddings and smaller events and keep them off high volume venues and construction sites so they remain in great condition for the more intimate events. We also dabble in a small array of ancillary rental items and we will often go out of our way to find items for our customers that they are requesting and can’t find elsewhere.

What is your favorite part of your work week and why?

I love every day of the week. They each bring their own challenges and opportunities. Since we operate seven days a week, there isn’t much difference from one day to the next other than new opportunities to wow our customers. Within that, I really like taking phone calls from prospective customers, answering their questions and explaining our services.

Why do you love this company and your job?

We are problem solvers! We really enjoy working with our customers to fill whatever needs they have. To some people, including my eldest daughter, this isn’t a glamorous business. We think it is. Nobody really wants to deal with the ins and outs of what we do, but we love it.
