What is one favorite client story and why?
On February 14, 2021, I had a wedding in Conroe, TX. As the couple went through the journey to have their special day feel like their best day ever. A Winter advisory warning was on the way in which, for safety reasons scheduled to end a few hours early so everyone could pack up and get home comfortably. It left the couple deflated knowing that they would have to end early but out of 100 people that were invited, less than 20 showed up. I spoke to the couple as we decided to have the ceremony under the gazebo as they wanted and we will still have and sustain the great energy from their introduction to their first dance all the way until it was time to leave. They left a glowing review but I am glad they were open-minded and let my optimism affect them to know that no matter what the circumstances are, we (the couple, family, guests) are going to have a great time. The best part, the bride was so happy that her husband danced the way he did because she has never seen him dance like that before.
What inspired you to start this company?
I started DJ Ramone as my own entity to control my narrative in how I operated to my couples as a business. The wedding industry is about relationships, building trust, understanding the process, and being informational. DJ Ramone is personable, a professional with a phenomenal personality. DJs plays an essential role in what goes on during the day. 85%-90% of what people will remember during the wedding will be the DJ. Most people have control of their own playlists through their streaming apps and if they wanted to could just make a playlist, buy a speaker and press play BUT having that entertainer that provides DJ/MC services is important to show how valuable DJs are. I am that.
What is your favorite wedding trend right now and why?
My favorite trend is Ballroom Blitz where the couple can either go from table to table or each table will line up to pose with the couple for a picture by the photographers BUT they have to do it as quick as possible to a song of their choice (hopefully a song that is decently long).
What is your best planning advice or tip for couples?
My advice for any couple is if you want the Sesame Street Theme song or Barney, “I love you”, its your day, its your moment. My advice honestly is, don’t be afraid to be confident in what you want but always be open minded to adjust or make changes. You will have the opportunity to ask the professionals the questions as you go through the planning process. It’s understandable that you are planning your day and you want it to feel special having loved ones be part of your special day. No matter what, it will always come down to you two. Being on the same page with each other, understanding each other and appreciating how far you come can help you through the chaos of planning. By time you get to the end of the night, you realized that you did everything you could AND you might think to yourself “wow, all that for this to go by so fast”.
What is your favorite part of your work week and why?
My favorite part of the week is the days leading up to the wedding day because, the couple(s) and I will the opportunity to go over the details of the wedding. Looking through the event planner, going step by step when it comes to the timeline and their songs for their spotlight moments. Going over the ceremony and reception is refreshing because as I create my playlist for the day of, my imagination will kick in how I will mentally and visual prepare for the day. Besides the music, it’s about the ability to be an entertaining MC will set a tone and the vibe of how the day goes that the couple is thankful and the guests appreciates.
