The Casa at Canyon Lake was inspired by the 61-year love story of Sam and Carol Ann. After years of marriage and hosting family gatherings at their Canyon Lake home, we transformed the property into a wedding and event venue. Opening in September 2024, The Casa continues their legacy by offering a beautiful space for love stories and celebrations to unfold.
What inspired you to start this company?
We wanted to honor the legacy of my in-law’s love story…over 61 years of marriage. Sam and Carol Ann were inseparable. Meeting in a small town in west Texas town in the 1950s, and after months of courting through an old screen door on Carol Ann’s front porch, they could not wait to begin their life together. They spent many years in West Texas and later moved to the San Antonio area, and retired in the 1990’s in Canyon Lake, Texas building their home on this property was special to them. They enjoyed entertaining others and often hosted gatherings for family, friends, and the community. Upon their passing, the decision to renovate this property making it into a wedding venue would offer a continuation to their legacy of love for one another and a place for celebrating and gathering with family and friends. In September of 2024, we will officially open The Casa at Canyon Lake as a wedding and event venue catering to future love stories and as a place to gather and celebrate those memories with family and friends.
What is your favorite wedding trend right now and why?
Many couples are now enjoying DIY wedding design and planning, but are also hosting combined family retreats either before or after the Wedding ceremony. A way for everyone to relax before or after the big day. Since we are located in the Texas Hill Country, we are conveniently located close to many entertainment venues and local attractions like New Braunfels, San Marcos, Wimberley, Fredericksburg, Austin, and San Antonio attractions. We like to think we are a rustic chic wedding venue, offering a space catering to relax and enjoy the day-of experience and not just the Wedding Ceremony. There are many available options for accommodations for not just the Bride and Groom to retreat, but for larger groups of family and friends.
What services do you provide?
We offer all-inclusive pricing so you will not be surprised with additional fees and charges. We are a 100 guest venue, offering indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception options. Tables and chairs are included, and the bridal party will have 11 consecutive hours of access on the wedding day to decorate and vendors to set up before guests arrive. The Bride and Groom suites also offer full bathrooms with showers and a large main common area for relaxing during the day.
What sets your company apart from similar ones in the same field?
We are a family focused venue, catering to mid-size Weddings and Events. We offer Brides, Grooms, and the Bridal party a space to enjoy the day of their Celebration. Our goal is to create an environment where couples can be a part of all their wedding day has to offer while also creating a space to maximize the beautiful views for capturing memories from their special day.
What is your best planning advice or tip for couples?
Keep it Simple. Smile. Laugh. Celebrate this Day…You have spent months planning and preparing, organizing and ordering, scrolling and searching…so when the Big Day arrives…take a deep breath, remember your love story, and have fun, cherishing all the moments of the day, building memories to last a lifetime.
