Bridal portraits are incredibly beneficial, and can even ease the amount of posed photos needed on your wedding day. You’re able to capture the beauty of you and your chosen wedding dress before your wedding day, and share it with your family and friends. So, to help you plan your portrait day, we’re sharing our Bridgerton-themed style shoot. (Part 2 coming soon!)
If you’re a bride that prefers candid shots over posed shots, we cannot stress enough that Bridal Portraits are a MUST. Get your posing out of the way beforehand so that you don’t have to be pulled into posed shot after posed shot on your wedding day. You want to enjoy the celebration you planned (and paid for)! To help you flesh out some ideas, take a look at this Bridgerton-themed style shoot we conducted with some amazing vendors.
Set the Scene
As always – venue first! While some brides choose to have their portraits offsite, we suggest using your venue so that your wedding photos and bridal portraits are cohesive.
For our Bridgerton-themed shoot, it was a no brainer to use Thistlewood Manor and Gardens. With its exquisite garden setting and glamourous staircase, we knew that we would get the shots that we wanted.
Choose a venue that fits your wedding theme and will capture you perfectly. Remember – the venue is the backdrop. You’re the star.
Pick a Color Scheme
Bridgerton is all about bright colors – which was perfect for this Spring photoshoot. If you’re struggling to pick the color scheme of your wedding, consider what season your wedding will be set in.
Popular season colors match the florals that are in bloom during that time; which is why you typically see darker colors in the fall and brighter colors in spring and summer.
Shout out to Honey Bee Blooms, who provided the gorgeous florals for this shoot!
It’s All About the Dress – and Accessories
Nothing displays your personality and theme more than your wedding dress. Are you going classical, modern, low-cut, high-cut, white dress, or black?
For this shoot, Brides by Elizabeth provided just what we asked for: a high-neck, elegant and timeless dress. And what would a wedding dress be without the accessories?
Mesh gloves and feather headband in tow, our bride was photo ready.
Bring Props
It can get tiresome striking pose after pose – and the photos can look a little too similar. That’s why we suggest bringing props!
For this shoot, we knew that a tea-time was a must, so we brought out china tea cups and scrumptious cupcakes from Sugar Shaker Bakery.
Bring Your Furry Family
Your fur babies should never have to be excluded from special moments in your life. But who would watch over them while you’re busy getting make up touch ups?
Wedding Pet Attendant provides a professional attendant to watch over your fur baby for as long as you need! They did an amazing job with this bride’s puppies.
Have Some Fun!
Don’t forget to have fun! You’re getting married!! Show off the personality your spouse will be blessed with for a lifetime!
Revel Rouser‘s adult ball pits serve as a reminder that while getting married is a serious commitment, the celebration doesn’t have to be!
Last But Not Least
Choosing a photographer to capture you! We chose Limelight Photography & Video to shoot these amazing bridal portraits.
With an impressive portfolio and professional staff, the shoot went on without a hitch.
