What made you get into the wedding & events industry? How many years have you been in it?

I’ve been in the industry since I was 14 when my mom started her company. At first, I only did behind the scenes work like moving tables and chairs but as I got older my role in the company grew and I started doing anything from assistant coordination, wait staff, cleanup crew, bartending and eventually adding another branch to the company tree (Floral department created in 2023).

What inspired you to start this company?

Although I’m a florist, I wanted to sit back, relax, and not worry about DIYing anything for my wedding so we hired a florist. The disappointment I felt when I saw my flowers the day of our wedding has stuck with me, the color scheme was wrong, only one of the few flowers I had requested was present, and flowers were molded/dead. While talking to my mom about how upset I felt, the idea of Bluebonnet Fields Floral came. Your wedding should be a reflection of you, I’m here to listen and help make that happen.

What is your favorite part of your work week and why?

Creating style/vision boards or selecting what flowers to present a couple for their color scheme is hands down my favorite!

What is your favorite wedding trend right now and why?

Fruits and vegetables incorporated into floral/decor. It gives events an organic and earthy feel. Its trendy but not overdone yet, keeping it unique.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen happen at a wedding?

One of my recent couples is obsessed with Halloween and brought in skeletons that were dressed like them to sit next to their welcome sign. Turns out that they leave the skeletons on their porch year-round and change them for the holidays.
