What inspired you to start this company?

My love for food and my passion for serving others have always gone hand in hand. I’ve been a foodie for as long as I can remember, and I naturally thrive on creating memorable experiences for the people around me. When my father first saw Thistlewood Manor, he insisted I come see it for myself. From the moment I did, I envisioned something truly special. I saw the beauty, the potential, and the opportunity to create unforgettable celebrations—and I knew I wanted to take on the challenge of bringing that vision to life.

What sets your company apart from similar ones in the same field?

Thistlewood Manor & Gardens is not your typical Central Texas venue. Conveniently located between Austin and San Antonio just off IH-35, our location offers easy access for guests, with a variety of nearby hotels and Airbnb options in Kyle. When you choose Thistlewood, you’re not simply booking a venue—you’re gaining a dedicated team. We’ve intentionally built a close-knit, in-house staff that values connection and collaboration, taking the time to build meaningful relationships with each couple and truly understand their vision. What sets us apart even further is our thoughtfully curated décor inventory, featuring stunning candelabras, linens, table décor, cake stands, signage, cocktail tables, and more—allowing you to create a beautifully cohesive event with ease.

What is one favorite client story and why?

One of the most unforgettable moments in my journey at Thistlewood began with the very first couple I ever booked. They happened to be the bassist and a backup vocalist for the heavy metal band Disturbed. From our first conversation, it was clear their wedding would be anything but ordinary. They envisioned a bold, gothic celebration filled with rich jewel tones—and watching that vision come to life at Thistlewood was truly incredible. As a longtime fan of the band myself, the experience felt especially meaningful. What started as a “first booking” quickly became a reminder of why I fell in love with this work in the first place: creating deeply personal, one-of-a-kind celebrations. Their wedding set the tone for everything I hoped Thistlewood would become—fearless, beautiful, and unforgettable.

I love this company because it allows me to give back to my community. My team and I have had the joy of creating smooth, beautiful, and unforgettable events—from weddings and baby showers to sorority formals and so much more. Along this journey, I’ve had the privilege of watching my staff grow and develop their careers, helping provide a strong foundation for new creators in this industry. It’s incredibly rewarding to be able to support and nurture talent while bringing unforgettable experiences to our clients.
