Austin Wedding Venue Tour – Hidden Gems

We’ve scoured the area to find wedding venues in Austin and surrounding areas that are the “hidden gems” of the city. Places that are nestled just inside just behind a long road or a grouping of oak trees that just may be waiting for you!

Haute Spot Venue

Finally, a wedding venue that is as unique as you are!

Haute Spot wedding venue has multiple event locations on site. Rent out the Great Lawn for larger, outdoor events that comes complete with all the essentials you need to host your wedding and fun perks like a 9 hole miniature golf course and a nearby patio that is the perfect bar area. We love that this venue has great locations for intimate weddings as well including the Reimagine Suite and the Secret Garden Suite.

The venue event packages include full service catering, bar, tables, chairs, a dance floor, lawn games and not to mention great service from their onsite staff.

Diamond Barrel

Searching for the perfect rustic elegant wedding venue? Diamond Barrel might just be your dream wedding venue.

Just north of Leander, this wedding venue features outdoor wedding ceremony space, patio area for your cocktail hour, a finished barn for indoor receptions, ready rooms for changing, and beautiful Texas Hill Country landscaping all at a reasonable price.

Couples can bring in their own catering and alcohol and there is ample parking on site. And the love story behind this wedding venue makes the location all the more special!

County Line

County Line has two wedding rehearsal and reception locations in Austin to choose from.

The original County Line location truly is a hidden gem. The restaurant overlooks miles of Texas Hill Country, with the convenience of a city location. The outdoor patio is a favorite among couples for a rehearsal dinner or small wedding reception. You’ll feel tucked away amongst the oak trees whether dining in the covered area, the open air patio, or the indoor event space.

Built in an old lake lodge, the County Line Lake location is another must-see! Situated on Bull Creek, this location offers indoor and outdoor event space for rehearsal dinner and casual wedding reception. And of course, you’ll get a true Texas feel with County Lines’ authentic Texas BBQ.

House on the Hill

Just off Bee Caves Road is a charming private estate featuring a luscious garden, outdoor wedding pavilion and a 1,000 square foot indoor wedding venue.

Garden-style weddings are especially charming at this location. The garden features oak trees wrapped with ivy and a stone waterfall for the perfect picture.

You can host your wedding reception in the gardens, at their covered pavilion or in their indoor wedding venue, depending on your number of guests. We love that you can bring in your own caterer as well.

One thing we love about House on the Hill is the special weekend packages this Austin wedding venue features. The venue has a main house and several cottages that can accommodate up to 20 guests overnight. Their weekend packages include time and space for your rehearsal, rehearsal dinner and wedding the next day.

Oh – and did we mention there’s a pool?!

Thistlewood Manor & Gardens

If you’re looking for a picture-perfect location for your wedding reception, Thistlewood Manor & Gardens is for you. The venue has so many ideal locations for exceptional photos from scenic outdoor backdrops, to a sweeping staircase or picturesque windows. The natural beauty of the manor and grounds means you’ll need minimal decor to create an elegant wedding.

In addition to the beautiful venue, Thistlewood has their own catering onsite, so you won’t need to hunt for your own caterer. But rest assured, their catering is delicious and well-priced.

One thing we love about the venue, is that when you book your wedding at Thistlewood all the facilities are yours for the day without any competing events. Not only do you have the entire location at your disposal, you’ll have access beginning the day prior. This helps smooth out the load-in and setup process for you and your wedding vendors, and also means your bridal party can settle in early.
