Megan Vargas with Palisades Designs exclusively creates floral wall rentals, along with additions such as fairy lights, drapes or balloons. We spoke with her about starting her company, wedding traditions and her favorite San Antonio foods!

What services do you provide?

Here at Palisades Designs, we provide high quality faux floral wall rentals for any special event. We also have non-floral backdrop options such as trend forward hoops and heptagonal wooden frames. Along with all of our large rentals, we also offer add-on options that range from simple fairy lighting, drapes or floral accents to custom signage, balloons or decorative stands. All of our rentals include delivery, set up, and tear down as well. We aim to offer exceptional services that help take the stress out of planning your special day.

What inspired you to start this company?

Palisades Designs is a partnership that was born of an 11 year friendship and a combined 25+ years of experience in the floral industry. Our desire and drive behind creating this company is to offer trend forward event options and help the visions of our clients come to life. We aspire to grow a company that is an all encompassing floral décor destination for clients for any special event.

What made you get into the wedding & events industry? How many years have you been in it?

We have been in the floral and wedding industry for a combined 25+ years. Our main focus has always been the fresh flower side, offering bouquets, personal flowers and reception arrangements. Our desire to grow and expand got the best of us and thus our company was created! We are never ones to shy away from a challenge and strive to always push ourselves to be better and more innovative and creative.

What is your favorite wedding tradition and why?

The first look is by far the favorite! Whether it’s between the bride and groom or the bride and her father, these moments are so intimate and so candid and so wholesome. It is such a beautiful moment and chance for the bride and groom to connect before their big moment without the huge audience so their true feelings and emotions in the moment shine through.

Are you a foodie? What’s your go-to dish?

Food is our love language! As partners, our taste in just about everything is oddly similar and it also applies to our taste in food. Trying new restaurants and food trucks is the best. From taco trucks to coffee shops to Mexican and Chinese, but the go-to dish that never fails has to be a good pasta dish!
