In addition to having a beautiful wedding venue and grounds, the location has history, pride and a great cause. Event Manager Suzyn Barrientos recently sat down with us to talk about why she loves this wedding venue and what makes them uniquely special.

Why do you love this company and your job?

We are non-profit and historic wedding venue in Austin. We have a mission to help veterans and we are fully open to hosting all people.

We believe we are lucky to be stewards of this gorgeous historic home that has served Austin in many capacities for more than 100 years. We want to continue being a indoor/outdoor venue that connects and supports the community.

We have no desire to be “hoity toity”! We want to stay humble, beautiful and reachable for all citizens to hold their beautiful events with us. We have held grand balls, served as a rehab hospital for Vietnam vets, been a Montessori school and have been hosting weddings since the 1970’s. We have trees that are almost 1000 years old in our lawn.

What is your favorite wedding trend right now and why?

Including fur babies in the wedding! They are so part of the family!

What services do you provide?

Our most popular amenities includes free time to set up, tables, chairs, free parking and the ability to bring in your own caterer. We also include clean up!
